Lavoratori in lotta all'Hotel Hilton di Milano

Sciopero di tre giorni all'Hotel Hilton di Milano contro la procedura di mobilità annunciata la primavera scorsa per 33 lavoratori tra cameriere ai piani e addetti alla manutenzione. Si tratta di lavoratori assunti a tempo indeterminato che hanno prestato servizio presso il prestigioso Hotel per vent'anni e più. Figure indispensabili e di esperienza che vengono licenziate per essere poi "riutilizzate" per svolgere lo stesso lavoro di sempre, ma come dipendenti di società terze o cooperative.

Chiaramente tutto ciò comporta una riduzione dei costi per l'azienda (che agita infondatamente la scusa della "crisi") e la perdita di diritti contributivi, salariali e di stabilità lavorativa per i lavoratori. I nuovi contratti proposti sono infatti a tempo determinato con addirittura tre mesi di prova per i manutentori! L'acquiescienza con la direzione della RSU in mano ai sindacati confederali è stata letteralmente superata dalla volontà dei lavoratori di intraprendere azioni di lotta e scioperi contro l'azienda per mantenere i propri posti di lavoro. La CUB sostiene e rilancia la lotta e invita i lavoratori della Hilton a non stare a guardare e a far fronte comune coi propri colleghi licenziati.

Hotel Hilton Milan workers on strike :

Many Hilton Milan workers taking care of basic needs of the hotel – chambermaids, porters, but also the staff of the engineering and stewarding depts – are affected by outsourcing plans. They’ve been fighting for months against the outsourcing plan of the company, that would mean approximately 30 lay-offs.

According to Hilton, this choice is inevitable to reduce the costs.

The workers think that such decision is not justified because the hotel has an 80% rooms occupancy average.

Therefore, this operation is meant only to increase the profits, while ignoring the needs of the workers, who have been contributing - some of them for decades - to the hotel’s success.

We do not agree to outsourcing decision, this would mean lay-off for lot of employees and shakiness life to those who have to replace them.

Everyone knows what outsourcing means and which are the contracts and wages for people employed in cleaning companies or Cooperative.

FLAICA-CUB Union and the workers reject the attempt to create a series of threats turned to the workers who do not agree with outsourcing and its will to not deal with the union who has the greater enrolled workers of the Hilton Milan.
